My Dear Aunty Nellie,

I have known you all my life, you were my Mother’s closets friend living only four doors away from each other. 

Lucky for me, as I was always at your house as a little girl, then through my teenage years, it was my second home where I felt happy, and again as an adult I would come back to visit, your door was always open. Your smile would make my heart flutter,  you were so happy to see me and always made me feel so welcome.

You were selfless, I would ask how you were, and always you would say I’m fine, don’t worry about me, you were more concerned about how my family and I were.

Even later in life when you were struggling with the loss your eyesight, again you would say I’m fine and still have the biggest smile on your face. 

It was priceless! 

You were more than an Aunt, you were my second Mam, you always stayed in touch with me all through our lives, even when I was thousands of miles away, by writing and when I returned to the UK, you would call me on the phone, to see that I was ok and to make sure I was happy.

Always caring for me. Thank you.

I loved you with all of my heart, and I am sad you are gone, but I know you are happy, because you are now with Uncle Sam. 

I am so blessed to have had you both in my life. I will never forget .
